An alert has ended safely in south Dublin after the discovery of potentially unstable material.

The army bomb squad was called to a house at Marino Avenue East in Killiney earlier this morning.

The bomb squad say that the substance was of concern but there was no apparent malicious intent.

It was subsequently destroyed by burning at the scene.
