Sophie Burke will represent Leixlip in under-11 handball at this weekend’s National Community Games Finals in Athlone

The 2013 National Community Games Festivals kick off this weekend in Athlone with a full program of Events for children aged6 to 15. Events taking place this weekend include Swimming, Gymnastics, Talent, Cross Country, Choir , Chess and draughts. County Kildare are well represented with 199 children representing twenty-one areas taking part in over thirty events. This year the new indoor sports complex is available to Community Games . This will add to the carnival atmosphere with most of the events in close proximity to each other than the Swimming and Handball

The Swimming Finals takes place in the Regional swimming pool over two days starting Saturday afternoon.
