NEWBRIDGE’S Jasmine Kavanagh sang her way to the semi finals of RTE’s The Voice on Sunday night.
Twelve acts took to the stage for the quarter final and the public finally had their chance to vote for their favourite act from each team. 22-year-old Jasmine Kavanagh is now down to the final eight and she needs all the public backing she can get as when she competes next Sunday night.

“I just can’t believe it,” she said on Monday morning.
“I went out with a different mindset last night. I went out to enjoy myself and I said if I end up going home then I will go home on a high.”
Jasmine once again showed off her strong vocal ability with her performance of Mariah Carey’s Anytime You Need a Friend.
Judge Una Foden described her performance as “red hot” and Bressie said there were “some really special moments in it” but that there was room for a little fine tuning and Rachel said there is “no doubt about her vocal ability” despite picking a song from a performer like Mariah Carey.
The 22-year-old has been busy in recent weeks with rehearsals throughout the week.
“I just got back at 10pm last night and it is straight in to rehearsals this morning,” she added.
“It has been crazy but good crazy with stylists, vocal coaches and the judges popping in for a chat with you back stage. The whole thing has been surreal.”
On Sunday night there was a huge crowd of supporters from Newbridge in the audience and Jasmine said this made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
“I was delighted to have so many friends and family there. Half of Newbridge was there,” she laughed.
Her coach and mentor Cian was really pleased with her performance.
“That voice! It’s like why are your nervous? It blows my mind. You put the nerves to bed tonight you are the only person in the competition who can sing Mariah Carey,” he said.
