THERE was a very good response to the activity on market square in Kilcullen on Saturday last, for the public consultation on possible changes to the square area.
“We have a lot of questionnaires filled out, now the hard part is to come, to get them sorted and analysed,” says Antoinette Buckley, chair of the KCA sub-committee looking at the future development of the square.
There was a very convivial atmosphere through the morning and afternoon, as well as a keen interest in both looking around the square and considering what might be done with it. Entertainment included a bouncy slide and face-painting for children, and refreshments were available for those who wanted them.
Questionnaires were filled in, poster displays of past events along with old and new maps of the area were studied, and there’s now a solid bank of advice, information and, apparently, some very constructive ideas from which a draft plan can be devised.
In addition to residents, business owners, and families, the event was attended by local representatives, and officials from Kildare Co Council.
