Scoil Bhríde Clane 2-10 

Scoil Bhríde Kilcullen 1-2 

Scoil Bhríde Clane were crowned Kildare Cumann na mBunscol Division 1 Football champions last Wednesday, beating Scoil Bhríde Kilcullen in an entertaining final in Manguard Park, Hawkfield. 

Doyle scored a great early goal for Kilcullen, but that was soon cancelled by a flurry of scores from Clane trio Kilbride, Quinn and Rybak. 

Kilcullen goalkeeper Tiwari had an excellent game, but eventually saw his goal breached when Rybak raised a green flag for Clane to make it 1-7 to 1-0. 

Kilcullen raised a couple of white flags at the other end, but Clane cemented their title with a second goal courtesy of Heffernan, with O’Rourke, Kilbride and Rybak all pointing before the end.

Presentation Girls' Maynooth are the new Division 2 Football champions after a hard-fought, high-scoring game against St. Anne's Ardclough.

Maynooth started brightly and scored eight points in and a sensational first half that proved to be the winning of the final. 

Ardclough will rue a few unfortunate missed chances that left them six points behind at half time, down 0-8 to 0-2. 

They were back on track with a goal and point early in the second half and kept within three down the home stretch. 

Both teams exchanged points before Maynooth took control, adding two goals late in the day to win the game by six points.

In a game where both sets of defenders and goalkeepers were on top, it was Bunscoil Bhríde Rathangan that came out on top, beating Scoil Phádraig Naofa Athy to win the Division 3 trophy. 

Rathangan lead by the minimum at half time, with scores from Sophia Cullen and Sophia Corcoran leaving their side up 0-2 to 0-1, with Molly O’Sullivan O'Meara on target for Athy.

Corcoran and Elsie Cully put Rathangan three up after the break, leaving Athy in need of a goal. Naoise Dunne found a point late on, but Rathangan held on for victory in this tense Division 3 showdown.

The Division 4 title belongs to Two Mile House after they got the better of Scoil an Linbh Íosa Prosperousin a thrilling final. 

A goal from Laura Moloney along with four points from the outstanding Katie Diver helped Two Mile House to 1-5 in the first half, with the remaining point scored by the energetic Maria Giblin. 

Prosperous trailed by three at the break, with a great goal from Amy Enright and two points from Darcey Egan leaving it 1-5 to 1-2 at the interval. 

Eimear Dunney hit the net for Prosperous after half time to level the match and leave an exciting final quarter; but Áine McNally scored four points on the trot to put Two Mile House out in front with an unassailable lead.

This final was probably the best final of the day. 

Two evenly matched teams served up a thrilling Division 5 final, but it was Scoil Mhuire Allenwood who ultimately left with the title, overcoming Scoil Mhuire Ballymore with the rare golden score. 

Allenwood scores from Kate Moran, Mia Price and Holly Carpenter had their side in front at the break, although goals from Áine McGrath and Caoimhe Conroy kept Ballymore in touching distance on a half-time scoreline of 1-6 to 2-1. 

The second half was as exciting as the first with scores from Moran and Carpenter pushing Allenwood further ahead. 

Ballymore fought back, with McGrath, Layla Clarke and Ella Murphy all hitting the net to put their team three points ahead with time almost up. 

But Moran stepped up with the last kick of the game and sent a cracker of a shot into the top corner of the net to send the game to golden score added time. 

Both teams had chances to clinch victory but it was Moran again with the all-important score to capture the title for Allenwood.

1-1 from Doyle and another goal from her sister put Allen well out in front in the early goings of the first half as their side went on to clinch the Division 6 crown. 

Ballycane responded with a goal from Connolly and a point each from Tully and Flanagan as well as a pair of white flags raised by Peciulyte to bring the game level. 

Allen finished the half stronger, however, with Doyle adding two points and Mahony adding another to leave their side up 2-4 to 1-4.

Doyle netted early in the second half for Allen, but a goal from Connolly and 1-1 from Tully brought Ballycane back into the contest. 

Four points in a row from the Doyle sisters kept Allen ahead before another goal nudged Allen into seven-point lead. 

Scores late on from Teahan and Peciuyte made it a three-point game, but the Doyle sisters responded with the winning points to deliver victory for Allen.

St. Patrick’s Celbridge are the Division 7 champions after strong performance in front of goal saw them overcome Clocha Rince.

Celbridge opened the scoring with a well-taken point from Horan before Kenna replied with a point for Clocha Rince. The sides then exchanged goals, firstly Horan for Celbridge followed by Kenna down the other end. 

This pattern continued for the remainder of the match with O’Shaghnessy and Leydon scoring for Celbridge and Bryla scoring for Clocha Rince, before a fabulous goal from Leydon gave Celbridge their first victory at this grade.

Division 8 Football Final

Ballysax 8-7 

Cadamstown 6-0 

This highest scoring final of the week saw Ballysax emerge victorious over Cadamstown to secure the Division 8 title. 

Ballysax have on their team a star of the future in Sarah Cousins, who gave an exhibition of fielding, soloing, accurate passing from hand and foot and score taking of the highest order. She had great team mates in Isibeal Keaveney, Grace O’Donnell, Piper Grainger and Seona Cunnane. 

Cadamstown too were a very good side and contributed to this excellent final. Their captain Mollie Rose Morrissey led by example and kept playing to the final whistle. 

Other players of note in the north Kildare side were Riley Kelly Drake, Keira O’Driscoll, Lara O’Grady, Emma Keenan, Ndalo Hlatywayo and super sub Ella May Ryan who scored a great goal.
