Star Prospect looked every inch of that as he landed the opener for the in-form Joseph O’Brien yard when landing the opening five-furlong contest by a length and a quarter - the first of three wins on the day for the trainer.

Willie McCreery saddled the winner of the second race of the afternoon with 3/1 favourite Stag Night, a short head scorer from Likedbymike in second and Noble Nation in third in the ten-runner handicap over five furlongs.

Seven runners went to post for the for the six furlong maiden to mark race three of the day and Great Barrier Reef duly obliged at odds of 4/9 on for the Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore duo, looking a very classy type in the process and a potential tilt at the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot further down the line.

Andrew Slattery picked up the win in race four, the six furlong handicap, with Bint Majestic Roi who scored by two and a quarter lengths from Reposado in second.

Race three was the feature race of the afternoon, the Group 3 Alleged Stakes, and Joseph O’Brien bagged his second winner on the card with Starford, who landed odds of 9/1, as jockey Scot McCullagh picked up his first Group winner as part of a one-two for the O’Brien yard.

Jessica Harrington got a victory on the card in race six with Thenandnow, a 7/1 winner of the six furlong maiden, while Thomas Coyle was the winning trainer of the penultimate race of the afternoon with Merisi Diamond, who scored in the seven furlong handicap by a head to see of the 9/4 favourite Red Charlie.

Finally, the card came to a close with the 13-runner handicap over the mile trip and O’Brien completed his treble on the card with Arctic Assassin, a 12/1 winner by three-quarters of a length to pick up his first win under rules.
