The Leinster Relay Championships delivered a thrilling showcase of juvenile athletics, with clubs from across the province competing at SETU Carlow.

The opening day of the Kildare County Track and Field Championships delivered a vibrant showcase of emerging talent, seasoned competitors, and remarkable individual performances.

It was competition for all ages last weekend. The Irish University Championships were held in Cork (MTU) with a host of Kildare athletes representing their universities.

The curtain has been drawn on the National Juvenile Indoors as the third of the three Championship days concluded last Saturday.

The annual Cumann na mBunscol Chill Dara Cross Country event was held again this year in the wonderful Rathcoffey GAA.

It was an exhilarating weekend of athletics with all eyes focused on the international scene.

It was an athletically active weekend with a great choice of events to spend a day spectating and enjoying the unusually good weather.

Two major athletics events dominated the athletics world last week.

There were four new national records this weekend from Emma Moore, Gemma Galvin, Nick Griggs and Elizabeth Ndudi.

Boston, Paris, Lyon, Auckland, Dublin and Athlone. That is where the athletics action focused last weekend.

Breaking National Records has already started and we are just barely into the 2026 season.

It was another busy week of Athletics in Kildare.

It was back to Hodgestown again last weekend for the second stage of the Kildare cross-country championships. Boys and girls, ladies and men all competing for county titles.
