Allenwood Celtic launches Legends in the Wood Fundraiser 

Allenwood Celtic AFC are celebrating 35 years in 2026 with a “Legends in the Wood” fundraiser. 

They club was founded in 1991 from humble beginnings and has seen huge growth and success over their 35 years. 

With membership increasing year on year, Allenwood Celtic AFC announced the Club’s future development plans which include a new clubhouse and full size astro. 

Their goal is provide the best facilities for their members and future members for generations to come. The club recently received the FAI Club Mark Entry Level award and they are well and truly on their way to achieving their goals.

On Saturday 29th November, together with Legends XI, they announced the Legends of the Wood fundraiser to help achieve their goals. 

They club will host a team Premier League Legends to play an exhibition match in their grounds on 23rd May 2026. They will welcome players from across the premier league to play against their team of local legends.

Players already confirmed to play include former Leeds Utd striker Jermain Beckford, former Manchester & Newcastle right wing/midfielder Keith Gillespie and 5 time Premier League Winner, 2 time Champions League winner, Manchester United’s Wes Brown, who even sent a personal message on the night. 

There will be a number of opportunities to see the Legends in action. There will be planned meet & greet sessions, an exclusive gala dinner in the Keadeen Hotel in Newbridge as well as the match itself.
