As you were for the Kildare hurlers

Brian Dowling keeps faith with the same 15 players that beat Westmeath for the short trip to Carlow

Kildare manager Brian Dowling has named the same 15 players to start for the daunting prospect of the visit to Carlow on Saturday afternoon.

Last time out, Kildare recorded their first ever Joe McDonagh Cup win over Westmeath so it's no surprise to see Dowling going with the same personnel. There are some tweaks within that, with James Burke named at midfield and Cathal McCabe moving into the half forward line, while Gerry Keegan returns to the half forward line and Darragh Melville pushes further forward.

Kildare would love to build on that excellent win over Westmeath but will be big underdogs against a Carlow side who have brushed aside the challenges of Down and Kerry in the opening two rounds, scoring 9-50 in the process and without conceding a goal.

The game takes place in Netwatch Cullen Park on Saturday at 2pm.
