A 63-YEAR-old Kildare woman was convicted and fined €150 for a section 4 public order offence at Carlow District Court.
On 27 March, gardaí were called in relation to an intoxicated female at the Woodford Dolman hotel in Carlow town, who was refusing to leave.
When gardaí arrived, they found Irene Tynan Ardrew Fields, Athy and observed that she had slurred speech, was unsteady on her feet and smelt of alcohol. She was taken to Carlow Garda Station.
Judge Geraldine Carthy convicted and fined Ms Tynan €150, with 90 days to pay.
“Oh dear, she should have turned up in court,” Judge Carthy said as she concluded sentencing.
