Kildare woman disputes Christmas Day assault

A WOMAN who allegedly punched her next-door neighbour in the mouth on Christmas Day will have to return to court again at the end of next month for a full hearing.
Lisa Mullaly (37) of The Rise, Belin Woods, Newbridge appeared in Athy District Court this week recently charged with assault causing harm (S3) on her next door neighbour on 25 December, 2024.
Although Ms Mullaly told the court she is pleading not guilty, she also added that she was unrepresented.
She did not say whether this was due to the ongoing solicitor’s strike.
“Can you give me a summary (of the events),” asked Judge Desmond Zaidan.
“She punched her neighbour in the mouth,” alleged Sergeant Ruth Coleman.
“There was some sort of verbal argument, and she punched her in the face,” she added.
“The injured party did not need medical attention,” she added.
On hearing that he ordered Ms Mullaly to return to court on 30 October for a full hearing in Naas District Court.
