LIVE BLOG - Newbridge Town v Bohemian FC in the Sports Direct Womens FAI Cup quarter-final

Newbridge Town host Bohemians in the quarter-final of the Sports Direct Womens FAI Cup at Station Road this evening

Newbridge Town players rightfully receive a standing ovation as they leave the field, both for their efforts tonight but also to reach this stage in the first place on a history making cup run.

Full-time - It's all over and finishes 7-1 win for Bohemians. Newbridge Town are far from disgraced by this result though and can be hugely proud of their efforts. For 60 glorious seconds a huge upset looked possible when Fitzpatrick equalised but that just poked the bear and Bohs beared their teeth after that. The loss of Brooke Dunne from midfield shortly after Bohs went 2-1 ahead had a huge impact on Newbridge and Bohs were able to add on some goals as their experience of playing at a much higher level began to tell against a tiring Newbridge. Overall, a wonderful day for the team and club despite what looks to be a very one sided final scoreline.

86 mins - Savannagh Kane nets a seventh for Bohs, this is harsh on Newbridge but are ruthlessly pushing until the end - Newbridge Town 1 Bohemians 7

85 mins - Gaps opening up now and McEvoy takes advantage inside the area to tuck away a goal that completes her hat-trick - Newbridge Town 1 Bohemians 6

74 mins - Newbridge players out on their feet now as Bohs finish strongly, they add a fifth now through Brennan - Newbridge Town 1 Bohemians 5

73 mins - Brennan sends McEvoy through on goal and she finds the bottom corner to make it 4-1 - Newbridge Town 1 Bohemians 4

72 mins - Triple change for Newbridge as Roberts, Kaye and Doyle are replaced by Laura Jane Kaye, Rebecca Kavanagh and Jess Turner. No surprise those changes happen in the back five as they have been under so much pressure, far from a reflection of their performance and more a recognition that they have given it absolutely everything

63 mins - Another fantastic save by Foley as she tips Brennan's dipping 25 yard shot over the bar

58 mins - Stafford now in her third position of the game as she slots into the centre of midfield following the departure of Dunne, and Christie has come on to play on the right wing

58 mins - Close to another goal, McEvoy's powerful shot crashes off the underside of the bar and bounces down on the goalline and away to safety

57 mins - Bohs go further ahead when a right wing corner by McKevitt leads to a scramble in the box and O'Brien smashes home from close range - Newbridge Town 1 Bohemians 3

53 mins - Newbridge forced into a change with Dunne not able to continue, Tara Christie comes on. Bohs make a double change as Lisa Murphy and Sarah McKevitt replace Muddiman and Rusher.

52 mins - But the excitement doesn't last long as Bohs equalise just a minute later when O'Brien rounds Foley before finding the net - Newbridge Town 1 Bohemians 2

51 mins - Goal for Newbridge! And wouldn't you know it had to be the former Bohs player who is back to torment her former team as she rounds Kelly before slotting home and Newbridge are level! Newbridge Town 1 Bohemians 1

50 mins - Fitzpatrick's left foot free hit the wall but fell perfectly for her again but the follow up is blocked again

48 mins - Chance for Newbridge Town as they are awarded a free kick on the 'D' on the edge of the Bohs penalty after Brooke Dunne is fouled from behind. Dunne needs treatment and is a concern but can they make anything of this?

47 mins - First yellow card of the game is shown to Bohs midfielder Healy

46 mins - Foley called into action inside the first minute of the second half as she dives full length to push away Hannah Healy's powerful shot from just inside the penalty area

Half time - Only Alannah McEvoy's ninth minute penalty separates the teams at the break. Bohs has dominated the ball but Newbridge have defended superbly to make sure that they have had very few clear cut opportunities. Newbridge haven't been able to create anything really of note at the other the magic of football means that as long as the score remains at 0-1 then they are still right in this game - Newbridge Town 0 Bohemians 1.

45 mins - Clever flick by Aoibhe Brennan gets Lovely in on the right and after her cross, McEvoy's shot is deflected wide. Newbridge defend the corner well and now just have to make it through three minutes of injury time to get to the half time break

41 mins - Kate Foley has had an excellent first half in goal for Newbridge. She hasn't had many difficult saves to make but she has been flawless with her handling so far and she is spreading confidence throughout her defence

40 mins - There is an official attendance of 687 here in Station Road this evening

39 mins - Good couple of minutes from Newbridge, Bohs keeper has to race outside her box to prevent McNulty from reaching one through ball

38 mins - Since the substitution, Ali Kaye has dropped into right back, with Abbi Stafford moving to the right side of midfield and McNulty is now in the lone striker role

36 mins - Long kick out by Kate Foley almost gets Orlaith Fitzpatrick away on the left hand side but Katie Lovely quickly gets back to cover the danger

35 mins - Jess McNulty is Murray's replacement

32 mins - Both Newbridge Town full backs have needed treatment in the first half, it's Hayley Murray's turn now after Aoife Roberts earlier. Roberts was able to continue but it doesn't look like Murray will be as fortunate

30 mins - Newbridge have done well not to crumble after conceding an early. Bohs are certainly dominating possession but they haven't carved out too many clear cut opportunities from open play

29 mins - O'Brien fires over from a narrow angle on the right

24 mins - O'Brien is causing a lot of problems on the right and she sends another dangerous ball into the box that flashes across the face of the Newbridge goal

23 mins - Good deep cross from the right by Hannah O'Brien is headed over at the back post by Leiagh Glennon

22 mins - Stafford delivers a good ball into the Bohs' box but Roisin McGovern just about diverts the ball away before Orlaith Fitzpatrick can reach it

20 mins - Bohs win a free kick on the edge of the box and again Foley shows a top class pair of hands as she holds on to Aoibhe Brennan's shot with three forwards waiting to pounce on any rebound

17 mins - Ali Kaye, daughter of Newbridge manager Brian, wins a free kick in a dangerous position on the right wing but Brooke Dunne's floated cross is picked off by Rachel Kelly

15 mins - Good safe pair of hands by Newbridge goalkeeper Kate Foley to catch a Katie Lovely cross that was dipping dangerously at her feet

9 mins - Bohs awarded a penalty after Ella Doyle is adjudged to have taken down Hannah O'Brien. Alannah McEvoy sends Kate Foley the wrong way to convert from the spot - Newbridge Town 0 Bohemians 1

5 mins - Abbi Stafford is tasked with the difficult lone striker role for Newbridge in their 4-5-1 formation but the Defence Forces international and Offaly GAA player is the ideal player for the job with her pace and movement

3 mins - Newbridge Town line with five defenders with Caitlin Kennedy at the heart of the defence and there's an early scare as she deflects a right ring Hannah O'Brien cross into the side netting
