The coroner was told there was “an urgent, acute event” after a sudden drop in the foetal heartbeat at 11.45 pm.

The apology came as Marie Donnellan and her husband William Hurley, from Galway, settled actions for nervous shock and injury against the HSE over the death of their daughter.
