The Land Development Agency has acquired a new site in Baldoyle with existing planning permission for 1,931 homes.

All apartments will be available as cost-rental and social homes, with the first units due to be delivered in early 2027

The homes are being developed in a 12-acre section of Seven Mills called Cooper Square, which consists of 257 one-bed, 318 two-bed and 32 three-bed apartments.

HRI and the Land Development Agency (LDA) are in talks about the transfer of part of the site so that it can be used to build social and affordable housing, The Irish Times reported on Tuesday.

The State-sponsored body has reached an agreement to purchase the 3.79-hectare Royal Liver site on the Naas Road

O'Brien also claims more than 33,500 homes will be completed by the end of the year.
