The bar is part of the former Press Up hospitality and entertainment group founded by Patrick McKillen jnr and Matthew Ryan.

Press Up, at its height, operated some 50 bars, restaurants and hotels with 1,600 employees

Mr McKillen jun is a co-founder of Ireland's largest hospitality group, Press Up, and son of well known developer Paddy McKillen senior.

A previous attempt to secure planning permission for the project was quashed by order of the High Court two years ago.
