RELAY For Life Kildare are launching this year’s 24-hour event that sees local communities in Kildare come together to celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost to cancer, and stand together with those facing cancer.

It comes after the Irish Cancer Society warned that cancer survival rates are unlikely to improve because services are underfunded.

In 2024, an additional €20 million was requested by the HSE for the national cancer strategy. That funding was not provided.

The new code will help cancer survivors who have previously faced difficulty in accessing mortgage protection insurance due to their diagnosis
