One of the drivers, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick for a post-mortem.

The two-car collision happened on the R473 near Kilcarroll close to Kilrush at around 2pm on Sunday afternoon.
