Paul Givan has sent a letter to all school principals.

Claire Sugden said she is concerned about relations between ministers in the powersharing Executive.

Several of the schools across the counties of Fermanagh, Tyrone and Antrim closed as a precaution on Monday morning.

Some schools posted messages on social media advising parents that they had closed.

Mr Givan said that while he wanted to support all schools in Northern Ireland, he is currently “not able to do so in the current financial environment

It comes as questions are asked over funding from the Education Authority for sports facilities at one school.
