Ireland has announced €500,000 in emergency assistance as the Nepal flooding death toll hit 626, with 2,500 people missing

Two Irish nationals are among hundreds of people feared missing in Nepal.

Videos showed people fleeing uphill in terror to escape the surging muddy flood waters.

Alpine Eco Trek, which offers guided tours and expeditions, confirmed 12 British nationals were missing.

On Tuesday, protesters stormed and torched the parliament, the Supreme Court, and multiple government offices, including Singha Durbar – the central administrative complex.
