Emergency responders who arrived at the scene were not aware there was a passenger in the car, and the body of the dead young man was only discovered a couple of hours after the crash

The passenger side of the car was covered in hot tar, which poured out of the back of the articulated lorry upon impact, Dublin Circuit Criminal Court heard on Tuesday.
