Grace Lynch (16) lost her life in January after she was struck at a pedestrian crossing on Ratoath Road in Finglas, Dublin 11.

During questions on scramblers, Fianna Fáil TD Tom Brabazon asked whether the Government would consider introducing a statutory indemnity for gardaí acting reasonably while pursuing people driving scramblers and other vehicles recklessly and illegally.

Grace Lynch (16) was fatally injured when she was involved in a collision with a scrambler at a pedestrian crossing on Rathoath Road, Finglas, in January.

Noel O'Flynn said Grace's Law sends a clear message that illegal scramblers do not belong on public roads, footpaths, parks, greenways, or residential estates.

Legislation for the ban will be known as ‘Grace’s law’ after teenager Grace Lynch, who died following a crash involving a scrambler bike in Dublin.
