A man in his 30s has been arrested after the body of a man in his 60s was found in New Ross, Co Wexford

The body of a man was discovered by a member of the public on Rostrevor beach at approximatey 7.25am on Thursday morning.

The discovery was made in Ballymount, Dublin 24, early on Friday

The victim was named locally as Josephine “Joan” Ray

A man in his 40's has been detained, and is currently being held at a Garda Station in the county.

The body of the man, who was aged in his 60s, will be taken to University Hospital Galway where a post-mortem examination will take place.

The man’s body was discovered on the ground near the Mount Kennett apartment complex early this morning.

It is understood the woman was a very private person who had not been seen locally for some time
