The incident, involving a car and two motorcycles,  happened on the R415 at Boley Little shortly after 7.30 pm.

Five people have been conveyed to the hospital with injuries which are believed to be non-life threatening.

The woman has been transported to University Hospital Kerry.

The scene is currently held for examination by Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardaí expect the road to remain closed for several hours.

A motorcycle struck the pavement kerb on the Dublin Road in Arklow,  and the driver and passenger fell from the motorcycle.
