NAAS CBS 2-20 SCOIL AODHAIN 2-5

NAAS CBS overcame the elements and Scoil Aodhain of Dublin to claim a fifteen-point victory over the Dublin school and so advance to the knock out stages of the 2025/26 Bro Bosco Cup at Whitehall Colmcille’s on Tuesday afternoon.

Scoil Aodhain were two points to the good inside a minute thanks to impressive full forward Cathal Hickey but once CBS drew level at 0-3 apiece the Kildare school took control and outscored their opponents 2-7 to 1-0 for the remainder of the half.

Goal number one came on the quarter hour mark when, following a good fetch in midfield, Jack Heneghan fed Rory Thompson who in turn set up Jack Reilly for the goal. Although Scoil Aodhain got in for a goal of their own in the 21st minute through Jude Browne, Reilly, Thompson, Heneghan and Matthew Galvin all added to the Kildare school’s tally before centre half, Cian McKevitt got in for their second goal two minutes from half time to lead 2-10 to 1-3 at the break. A whirlwind start to the second half by the Dublin school saw them notch 1-2 without reply, the goal coming in the 32nd minute from corner forward, Sam Moore.

Naas regained the initiative again with excellent two pointers from Niall McAndrew and Sean Tully. From then on it was all about seeing the game out as they kept the Dublin school scoreless while adding five further points themselves.
