There’s a good quality seven-race card at Naas this evening, where we have the Group Three Jannah Rose Stakes alongside six further intriguing contests.
Read on for a preview of and tips for the Naas card, brought to you by BetBrothers.
We begin with a five-furlong fillies’ maiden run over five-furlongs (17.10). There are a few interesting newcomers here with prominent connections, so this is going to be a tough race to judge. The fillies with existing form have yet to show enough ability to suggest they can win a maiden, so it might be worth looking in the direction of debutant Shi Yang or Red Primrose.
Next is a five-furlong handicap (17.40). Happy Henry was a winner last time out but looks to find this difficult on a much higher mark now, while Whatswrongnow could get involved after improving his form last time at Fairyhouse. Mini Cotai could be worth thinking about after a good run last time at Down Royal.
A two-runner six-furlong three-year-olds’ rated race is next (18.10). Oro Blanco was a winner last time out in a Fairyhouse maiden, so he looks handy here, while his only opponent is Gavoo, who might be benefitted by the step back down in trip for this. The higher rated of the two, he’s probably the one to go for here.
The Listed Jannah Rose Stakes is next, for three-year-old fillies over an extended 10-furlongs (18.40). Caught U Sleeping won a Listed race over course and distance last time and makes appeal again under Ben Coen, while Cameo tops the ratings. Rebel Moon is intriguing in Listed company for only her second ever start.
Our fifth race is an apprentice handicap over a mile and three furlongs (19.10). Neon Eyes has been getting progressively closer and looks to have her winning opportunity here today. Amrum was the one to beat her last time by a head but is equipped with first time blinkers today, which might help him keep up to the task.
Second to last is a mile maiden for three-year-olds (19.40). With a host of debutants here, this is another race which is hard to grasp on paper. The best existing form comes from Listentodwindblow and Krasimir, while Coolmore’s Transcript could be good. He is a gelding, though, which promises less.
Finally, we conclude with a mile fillies’ maiden (20.10). Elmakaya was good over course and distance last time and has cheekpieces applied today. Vishaya is tried on Turf for the first time after a productive pair of runs on the all-weather. Shanala also should be worth considering.
There's plenty of fun in store away from the track too with a summer BBQ and the ever-popular After Dark taking to the stage at the conclusion of racing to get the party going late into the evening
