13 new social homes coming to Monasterevin

MONASTEREVIN is set to welcome 13 new social housing units in 2027, after Kildare County Council recently signed a contract appointing Axis Construction Ltd for the job. The construction of the project is scheduled for completion in 2027 and will be located on St Evin’s Park in Monasterevin.
The project involves the construction of 13 new social housing units and is funded by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage through the Social Housing Investment Programme.
Speaking at the contract signing, the cathaoirleach of Kildare County Council Tim Durkan said: “The delivery of these 13 new homes will further address Kildare’s social housing needs. This project is an important milestone in providing high-quality accommodation for those individuals and families most in need.”
Sonya Kavanagh, chief executive of Kildare County Council, added: “Kildare County Council is delighted to welcome Axis Construction Ltd as our partner in delivering this important project. This initiative represents another significant step in our housing delivery programme and reinforces our commitment to increasing the supply of high-quality homes across County Kildare.”
The Part VIII design was completed by the Kildare County Council Architects Department, in partnership with other design team members including Donnachadh O’Brien & Associates (Civil and Structural Engineer, Assigned Certifier and PSDP), Hayes Higgins Partnership (Building Services) and Landmark (Landscape).
