THERE WAS “no excuse” for one driver in Naas this week who was fined after being caught parked in a disabled parking space without a valid permit.
Gardaí from the Naas Roads Policing Unit were on patrol when they spotted the vehicle parked in a disabled bay, with the driver using their phone and no permit displayed.
At the same time, another motorist with a valid disabled parking permit was waiting to use the space. Officers directed the driver to move the vehicle and issued a €150 fixed-charge notice.
In a statement, Gardaí reminded motorists to respect disabled parking bays, noting that there are only a limited number available and they are essential for those who genuinely need them.
