HOUSING developer Glenveagh has announced its acquisition of 250 acres of land on the Kildare/Meath border for €55 million.
The newly acquired site has the potential to accommodate 9,000 new homes, aligning with the company’s ongoing efforts to address Ireland’s housing demand.
Under the leadership of CEO Stephen Garvey, Glenveagh had signaled its intent to "significantly expand" its land bank in 2024 and into the future.
According to reports from RTÉ, Glenveagh experienced a robust performance in 2024, delivering a 77% increase in new homes to customers compared to the previous year.

To build on this momentum, the company expanded its land bank with the purchase of lands on 14 sites spanning the Kildare/Meath border, with one site near Maynooth in Moygaddy.
The Business Post revealed that the lands were acquired “opportunistically” from veteran developer Tom Bailey, with a capacity for 9,000 housing units across the 14 sites.
With this latest acquisition, the company is well-positioned to contribute to Ireland’s housing sector which will hopefully meet the needs of prospective homeowners.
