€500,000 of drugs seized in Kildare during Revenue operation

Drugs worth €500,000 were seized in Kildare today following a Revenue joint operation.
As part of an intelligence-led operation, Revenue officers seized 10.19kgs of the drug 4Methyl methcathinone HCL (M-Cat) with an estimated value of approximately €500,000 (subject to analysis) in Newbridge.
The drugs are considered a psychoactive stimulant.
A male, aged 18, was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained at a Garda Station in Co. Kildare under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
This seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and Newbridge Drugs and Crime Unit.
Investigations are ongoing.
This seizure is part of Revenue’s joint operations targeting the supply and sale drugs.
