THERE are no more junior infant spaces in eight primary schools in the Naas area, with the Department of Education being notified.

In a letter sent to parents this week on behalf of St Corban's NS, principal John Drewett said management at St Corban’s, Scoil Bhride, Kilashee, St David’s, Naas Community NS, Mercy Convent Primary, Scoil an Linbh Íosa, and Gaelscoil Nás Na Ríogh had met twice on the enrolment situation and determined that all spaces available had been filled for the 2026-27 academic year.

Mr Drewett said: “To the best of our knowledge, all eight schools have now filled their junior infant places for next September, and we have also ensured that no individual child holds a place in more than one school. Each school has a waiting list should any places become available due to withdrawals.

"We fully acknowledge that this is a very difficult situation currently for any family who is yet to secure a place for their child next year. The Department of Education and Youth has been informed, and they have begun to review the situation."
