Danielle Grufferty, pops the question to long-term partner, Naomi
AN ATHY woman who has been a fixture in many people’s homes as a series regular in Gogglebox Ireland has popped the question to her long-term girlfriend.
Series regular Danielle Grufferty, who first appeared on ‘Gogglebox Ireland’ when she was just 12 years of age, got engaged to her long-term girlfriend, Naomi, while on holiday in Gran Canaria recently.
Danielle, who popped the question on a beach in Maspalomas last Wednesday, had been planning the proposal since June. She had even been practising the engagement at work by putting the ring on her colleague's finger, but still messed it up on the day by putting it on the wrong finger and then dropping it and losing it in the sand!
The only family members who knew about the upcoming engagement were her brother, Alex, and sister, Georgina, who also regularly appear on Gogglebox Ireland. Wedding planning, which is in the early stages at the moment, will be left to her Mam, Laura, to figure out. It will be a big party in the Grufferty house according to Dad, Des.
Danielle and Naomi first met while playing football as kids but didn’t get to know each other properly until Danielle became friends with Naomi’s cousin. Danielle said she had to chase after Naomi for two months before she convinced her to go on a date. The two have been together for five years.
