Athy’s 11th Darkness Into Light walk takes place tonight

TONIGHT, the Athy Darkness Into Light Committee will mark the launch of the 11th anniversary of Darkness Into Light Athy.

Following on from a brilliant event last year, everything is in place for what promises to be another truly special and uplifting walk for the community.

The committee said: “We are honoured to gather with you this evening—to chat, to reflect, and to share memories of those we hold dear and miss every day. Together, we stand as a strong and compassionate community, supporting one another and reminding each other that it’s okay not to feel okay.” 

Walkers will leave Athy Community College like previous years at 4.15am on Saturday 9 May. The local Circle K garage will also be supplying walkers with free tea and coffee until 8am that morning.

The Committee closed out by saying: “We look forward to walking together in hope, remembrance, and solidarity.”
