Bench warrant issued for man who allegedly stole from church

A MAN who allegedly stole cash from a local church and damaged candle shrines failed to appear at a recent sitting of Portlaoise District Court to answer the charges.
Daniel Moore (48) from 55 Church Hill, Dunlavin, Co. Wicklow, was due in court charged with the theft of €60 and damaging four candle shrines valued at €6,500 from The Sacred Heath Catholic Church, Stradbally on 18 September last year.
Judge Susan Fay issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Mr Moore.
