Up first was the cross-country chase (12.28). Gavin Cromwell succeeded here with 15/8 market leader Vanillier, with Keith Donoghue in the saddle. The popular grey won by over a length after a front running race, beating runner-up The Goffer.

Next was a two and three quarter mile mares handicap chase (1.03). JP McManus’ retained rider Mark Walsh had the first leg of his double here on board Crecora Hills, who finished strongly to cross the line over five lengths ahead of the next home, Sophia Rose for Gavin Cromwell.

Race three was a two-mile maiden hurdle (1.38). Willie Mullins and Paul Townend had their first of two winners here; Too Bossy For Us, who was returning from a break. He has entries at the Cheltenham Festival now so could next be seen in Grade One company.

The fourth race was a two and a half mile maiden hurdle (2.13). Mark Walsh rode his next winner here, the 15/8 main fancy Agameoftwohalves, trained by Gordon Elliott. He made a mistake at the last but recovered and prevailed to win by two lengths.

Race five was a two and a half mile novice handicap hurdle (2.48). Claiming rider Michael Kenneally had the first winner of his double here, riding Padraig Butler’s James The Brave. He made all and stayed on to win by just a neck to the challenging runner-up, Lough Nigara.

The penultimate race was a maiden hurdle run over two miles and seven furlongs (3.23). Paul Townend rode his second winner here; Fillyoureye for Willie Mullins. Having chased the leader around, the six-year-old took the lead to win by a very impressive sixteen lengths.

Finally, racing concluded with a mares handicap hurdle run over the same trip (3.58). Michael Kenneally finished off his double here with the Colin Motherway-trained Pebble Bleu. The mare made all and won by over three lengths to Slotty Dotty in second.
