CONCERNS have been raised over the condition of footpaths in Church View Estate, Suncroft, with calls for urgent repairs to address safety hazards for residents.
At the recent Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District meeting, cllr Kevin Duffy proposed that the council utilise Irish Public Bodies (IPB) footpath funding on an emergency basis to tackle the issue.
However, council officials responded that there are no funds currently available under the IPB allocation to carry out the requested works in the district.
Safety concerns about the paths in the estate have been raised among residents, who fear that delays to repairs could lead to accidents.
