Emily Square, Athy
Works in Athy's Emily Square should be completed in the summer, local councillors were told.
Cllr Brian Dooley sought clarity on the timeline for the delivery and completion of the much-anticipated Emily Square development.
Reflecting the feelings of Athy locals, he said: “There’s an anticipation and excitement about the square and when it will be happening.”
In response, the Senior Executive Officer for Strategic Projects and Public Realm, provided a detailed update on the project's progress.
Milestones have been achieved including the completion of ESB and public lighting ductwork. Surface water installation throughout the square is also underway. Further progress has been made with the digging of a tree pit and the ongoing installation of soil cells. The works are on track to be substantially completed by the end of May.
