Contractor appointed for Naas social housing

KILDARE County Council has signed a contract appointing Cunningham Contracts Ireland Ltd for the design and construction of 28 new social homes in the Craddockstown Housing project located on Craddockstown Road in Naas.
The Part VIII design (where a local authority gives planning permission to itself) was completed by the Kildare County Council Architects Department, in partnership with other design team members including Hayes Higgins Partnership (Civil and Structural Engineer and PSDP), Delap and Waller (Building Services), RMDA (Landscape) and TA group (Assigned Certifier).
The project involves the construction of 28 new social housing units and is funded by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage through the Social Housing Investment Programme.
Construction is scheduled for completion in 2027.
"The delivery of these new homes is an important step forward in meeting the housing needs of our community,” said the cathaoirleach of Kildare County Council cllr Tim Durkan.
“These 28 homes will provide much-needed accommodation for local families and individuals, while helping to meet the needs of our growing population.”
Annette Aspell, deputy chief executive of the council, added: “This project reflects Kildare County Council's ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable homes that meet local housing need.
“Working in partnership with Cunningham Contracts Ireland Ltd and the wider design team, we look forward to progressing the development and delivering 28 new homes that will support individuals and families in Naas for years to come.”
