Psychotherapists Annmarie Gray and Katie Richardson are the founders of Inner Therapy
A counselling and psychotherapy practice has unveiled its new home in the heart of Naas.
Psychotherapists Annmarie Gray (originally from Newbridge) and Katie Richardson (from Laois) are the founders of Inner Therapy – their mental health service provides counselling for couples, adolescents and adults. They also offer the likes of trauma therapy, mindfulness practices, and autism and ADHD informed therapies.
Their official opening took place at 42 South Main Street – opposite Naas Courthouse – on Friday 30 August with the help of Anita Meenehan, President of the Network Ireland Kildare Branch.
“I had a practice myself up over Swan's since 2016 … Katie came onboard then around 2019. It just grew from there,” Annmarie told the
.They launched a podcast last year called 'Where Do I Go From Here?' which did “phenomenally well”. It focused on inspiring stories of people who have faced adversity and how they have found ways to overcome their pain through learning.
“That went really well and, as a result of that then, we decided then to expand the business, expand and move into a bigger premises which is now Inner Therapy,” said Annmarie, who noted that there's around 12 therapists working from the premises.
They’re very accessible – the practice is open from 9am-9pm Monday to Friday, and 9am-6pm on Saturdays.
“We specialise in trauma, neurodiverse, relationships, grief, anxiety, depression... we also work with adolescents,” Annmarie explained. “People are able to talk about and feel more comfortable about accessing these types of services.”
