Design for new Naas junction awaited
Murtagh's Corner, Naas
THE design of a scheme to implement a new road planned for the centre of Naas is being finalised.
At the most recent meeting of Naas Municipal District, cllr Anne Breen brought forward a question on the meeting agenda asking “can the council provide an update on the status of the new road planned at Murtagh’s Corner/ New Row, Naas?”.
A report by senior engineer in sustainable transport and traffic management at Kildare County Council (KCC) Daragh Conlon said the council's roads capital team “is currently finalising the design of the scheme and its tie into the surrounding road and footpath network”.
The report added that once this is complete “a further update can be provided along with the programme for delivery”.
The aim of the project to implement the new road at Murtagh’s Corner is to take traffic out of Naas’s main street.
