Under Irish law, penalties for Dangerous Driving can include disqualification from driving for up to two years, a fine of up to €5000, and a prison sentence of up to six months, depending on the circumstances Gardaí are reminding motorists that excessive speeding poses a serious risk to all road users.

A Garda spokesperson urged the public: “Speeding at this level puts everyone on the road at risk. Drive safe. Arrive alive.”
