A driver in Kildare pretended a doll was a sick baby in order to get out of a speeding ticket.
The Naas Roads Policing Unit detected a car travelling at 180 km/h in a 100 km/h zone on the N7 recently according to an Garda Siochana Kildare Facebook page.
‘When stopped, the driver claimed they were rushing a sick baby for medical treatment. Gardaí quickly discovered the "baby" was in fact a remarkably realistic baby doll.’
The driver was found to have no insurance, and the car had no NCT, Tax, and a dangerously worn tyre.
‘The driver was arrested, charged with dangerous driving, and will appear before the courts. Fixed Charge Penalty Notices were issued for the other offences, and the vehicle was seized.’
