Driver does 'seven-point turn' at checkpoint

A DRIVER who tried to do what gardaí described as ‘a seven-point turn’ at a Laois checkpoint was arrested and charged to appear in court.
The motorist proved to be disqualified from driving when pulled in by gardaí in Borris-in-Ossory.
The car was seized and the culprit was charged to appear at Portlaoise District Court.
In a social media post this evening, An Garda Síochána Laois/Offaly said: ‘Nothing says "I'm completely innocent" quite like attempting a seven-point turn in the middle of the road, directly in front of a Garda checkpoint.
‘Naturally, we were curious. It didn't take long to find out why.’
The driver was stopped by a Laois Roads Policing Unit motorcyclist, after trying to evade the checkpoint.
The individual was arrested at the scene, while the car was impounded and towed away.
