This should make for an interesting chat with future students
A driving instructor has been issued a Fixed Charge Penalty Notice in Kildare after being stopped by the Naas Roads Policing Unit for using a mobile phone while driving a dual control learner training vehicle.
Gardaí said the instructor — the sole occupant of the car — was observed holding a mobile phone while driving. Adding insult to injury, when asked to produce their driving licence, the driver was unable to do so.
A €120 fine and three penalty points were issued.
In a post on the an Garda Siochana Facebook pagge, gardaí stressed that road safety laws apply to everyone, “especially those responsible for teaching others how to drive safely,” and urged motorists to keep their phones out of reach, noting: “No call or message is worth risking lives on the road.”
