Eight homes approved for Kildare village

Illustrative purposes only

PLANS for a new eight-home residential development in Ballitore have been granted by the council, following amendments to the original plans.

The application, submitted by Vernon Estates, sought permission for the construction of eight dwellings consisting of two detached two-storey houses and two two-storey terraced blocks containing three houses each.

The scheme will also include individual domestic vehicular entrances from Abbeyfield and Mill Lane, a new shared cycle and footpath along Mill Lane, a connection to the foul water sewer network and all associated ancillary site works.

The plans were revised following the submission of Significant Further Information to the local authority.

According to the revised proposals, the principal amendments to the original scheme included a revised site layout with updated access arrangements, revised building designs, changes to landscaping and boundary treatments, and a revised location for the cycle path.

Further information on the application was requested by Kildare County Council in July 2025 and again in April 2026. Responses were submitted in April 2026 before the application was granted.
