Father of four killed in motorcycle accident
Darrell Nolan, originally from Tullow, died in a motor bike accident on Sunday
A BIKER was tragically killed on Sunday morning, 2 August following a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a car in County Carlow.
Darell Nolan, who was originally from Tullow but living in Tinahely, died after the collision on the R448 at Ballyknockan, Leighlinbridge which occurred at around 9.30am.
He was brought by air ambulance to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in Dublin, where he was subsequently pronounced deceased.
A well-known motorcycle enthusiast and member of the Hooligans MCC, Darell was due to take part in the club’s charity motorcycle run in association with the Kilkenny Bikers in aid of the Irish Society for Autism later that morning when the accident occurred.
Aged in his 40s, he survived by his wife Sarah and four children, Ashlee, Daragh, Sorcha and Miss Evie.
Gardaí are investigating the accident and are appealing for witnesses. They are asking anyone who was travelling on the R448 at Ballyknockan, Leighlinbridge between 8.45am and 9.45am on Sunday morning to come forward.
Funeral arrangements are to be announced shortly.
