Former Kildare pub to be turned into takeaway

A former Kildare pub is to be turned into a takeaway after Kildare County Council granted planning permission.
The Winning Post on Newbridge’s Eyre Street has long been shuttered by a planning application to turn into a takeaway by Menglan Chen has been successful.
The application includes alterations to internal layout and new toilet facilities.
The site has some planning history with a separate 2022 application for a games arcade being rejected by planners.
If the proposal comes to fruition, it will have to abide by the opening hours of 5pm to 11pm as set down by the council.
