SEVERAL drivers were detected exceeding 80km/h speed limit during National Slow Down Day operation today in Kildare Newbridge Gardaí carried out a speed enforcement operation this morning on the Newhall Road (Naas Road), between Newbridge and Naas, as part of National Slow Down Day.

The road has an 80km/h speed limit, with several motorists detected travelling above the permitted speed.

Drivers caught exceeding the limit face a €160 Fixed Charge Penalty Notice and three penalty points.

Gardaí are reminding motorists that an 80km/h speed limit is a maximum, not a target.

Kildare Gardaí reminded road users: slow down, stay safe and arrive alive.
