Gardaí seize car from texting motorway driver
The car was pulled in by Laois gardaí on the M7 yesterday
GARDAÍ in Laois seized a car from a driver who was too busy texting to notice a motorway patrol.
The motorist was pulled in by gardaí on the M7 yesterday and proved to have no insurance, tax or NCT.
Posting a picture from the scene on social media today, gardaí said: ‘This driver failed to notice our patrol of the M7 yesterday, as they were busy texting on their phone.
‘When the vehicle was stopped it had no insurance, tax or NCT and was seized.’
The car was towed away from the scene and the driver was issued with a fixed charge penalty notice.
Court proceedings have commenced for a series of traffic offences.
