'Gentleman' Frank dies in Kildare crash

A MAN in his 80s was killed in a single vehicle crash in Kildare Town at 1.35pm on Wednesday afternoon (26 November).
The deceased has been named locally as Frank Gammell (80), who lived in Rowanville as a bachelor, and was “born and bred in Kildare Town”.
Mr Gammell was the sole occupant of the car, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The incident occurred on the Old Dublin Road (R445) to the Curragh.

Mr Gammell will repose at McWeys Funeral Home Kildare Town from 1pm on Sunday concluding with Prayers at 3pm.
Funeral mass on Monday at The Carmelites Church, Kildare Town at 12:30pm.
The location of the crash was subject to technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, but the road has since reopened.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 1pm and 2pm today are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
