NEWBRIDGE pub, Judge Roy Beans, has announced that it will reopen today, 11 February, after the tragic passing of business owner and community stalwart, Vivian Carroll.
The Newbridge, Kildangan and Kildare communities have been in mourning since Mr Carroll’s passing on Tuesday, 3 February. Floods of condolences came in online by friends, family, businesses and the local community – spanning the length and breadth of the county.
The funeral took place on the morning of Saturday, 7 February at Our Lady of Victories Church in Kildangan.
Judge Roy Beans announced online that they would be closed until further notice and was met with a mountain of support by customers and local businesses alike.
Earlier this week, the pub announced they would reopen on Wednesday, 11 February.
Commenters were delighted to hear of the pub’s reopening. One person wrote:
“Great news, the town would be absolutely 'lost' without JRBs. As Vivian was always here for his community, its time now for our community to return the favour to his beautiful family & first class 'V' team.”
Another wrote: “The very best of luck to you all through these trying times, We're all supporting you all through this & the opening and we will be in Jrbs like always. You are all amazing, lots of love and support always.”
